General Description / Primary Purpose The Department of Public Health is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant Professor of Public Health in the CEPH accredited Master of Public Health and Public Health Undergraduate Programs to start fall 2026. Position responsibilities include a teaching load of two courses each fall and spring, with the opportunity to teach one course in the summer. The position will teach in both the MPH and BSH programs, including graduate Public Health Policy and Advocacy and Public Health Leadership and Management; teach additional graduate and undergraduate courses in social and behavioral sciences or other specific content in the candidate’s area of expertise per program needs; conduct and publish research in areas of expertise; seek extramural funding; and perform university, community, and professional service.

Supervisor This position will report to the Department Chair.

Anticipated Start Date The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.

Required Qualifications Doctorate in Public Health with an emphasis in Public Health Policy and Management or a Doctorate in a closely related field with a Master’s degree in Public Health; doctoral degree conferred no later than August 1, 2026; proven record of, or potential for, excellence in teaching; proven record of, or potential for, extramural funding and scholarly research leading to peer‑reviewed publications; commitment to university, community, and professional service.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills Graduate degree(s) from CEPH accredited school or program of public health. Previous teaching experience at the University level. Area of expertise in Public Health Policy, Advocacy, Leadership and Management.
