General Description/Primary Purpose The School of Engineering is seeking two 9-month, tenure-earning Assistant Professors of Electrical Engineering. These positions will report to Dr. Alan Harris, Director of the School of Engineering. Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with a 2/2 teaching load, leading an externally funded research program in their field, and service to the School, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction, and the University of North Florida.

About the Department The School of Engineering at the University of North Florida provides high-quality education in a student-centered environment. The School offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various engineering disciplines, emphasizes hands‑on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, real-world problem solving, and cutting‑edge research.

Required Qualifications The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or a closely‑related field. The candidate must also demonstrate a record of scholarly achievement and evidence of teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills Candidates from all areas of electrical engineering are encouraged to apply, with preference given to those demonstrating the potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program and collaborate effectively with existing faculty across disciplines at UNF in areas including renewable energy, microgrids, controls and robotics, advanced manufacturing, cyber security, communications, and embedded systems. The successful candidate will be expected to show a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a willingness to engage in continuous learning. Additionally, collegiality, active service, and participation in departmental governance are essential attributes for this role.
