The Small Agency Resource Team (SmART) manages strategic direction for small, non‑cabinet agencies. As an Accounting Officer Senior, you will provide a full range of accounting services to state agencies, boards, and councils that contract through the SmART Program. Services include biennial and annual budgeting, accounts receivable tracking and reporting, system support, grants management, and financial reporting—including customized and ad‑hoc documents and statements. This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. Additional onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management. Completion of a telework agreement is required.

Prepare and interpret complex financial documents and statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulations. Use the state’s accounting system (SWIFT) or equivalent. Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, including pivot tables and automated reports. Present financial information to non‑technical audiences. Manage projects independently with minimal supervision, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of accounting, financial management, or related experience. Education may substitute experience as follows:

Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field for 6 months of experience. Bachelor’s degree for 1 year of experience.

Experience preparing and interpreting financial statements per GAAP and other statutory requirements. Proficiency with the state’s accounting system (SWIFT) or similar. Expertise in Excel (including creating pivot tables). Strong communication skills for presenting financial information to non‑technical audiences. Excellent problem‑solving and organizational/planning skills. Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy in number‑heavy recordkeeping. Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field. Professional accounting experience in government (state, federal, and/or tribal). Experience with SharePoint. Experience with Crystal Reports and OBIEE. Experience with state fiscal systems such as SWIFT, SEMA4, or comparable systems. High level of customer service to leadership and staff. Ability to work rapidly in a high‑volume environment with shifting priorities. Additional Requirements
