Job Summary The Quality Improvement Coordinator works with the Director of Quality to plan, organize, direct and lead staff and process quality improvement programs. This role requires understanding of system design, reengineering, project management, quality improvement, outcome measurement and analysis. The Coordinator leads all aspects of quality management, sets priorities, mentors staff, leads patient safety initiatives, monitors progress and continually improves the quality system.
Responsibilities The Coordinator coordinates development, implementation and evaluation of the hospital‑wide Quality Improvement (QI) program, including nursing, medical and ancillary staff. Duties include identifying trends, prioritizing and recommending improvements, decreasing duplication, ensuring regulatory and licensure compliance, contractual obligations and corporate policies. The Coordinator investigates incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues and other requested items to protect the hospital’s potential financial loss through risk detection, evaluation and prevention programs in collaboration with Risk Manager and Director of Quality.
Qualifications
College degree in clinical area.
ASQ or CPHQ certification preferred.
At least two (2) years’ experience in an acute hospital setting with data collection and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
