Executive Director of Security Architecture
This is a full‑time opportunity with a leading entertainment technology organization focused on protecting critical content and application systems across media and entertainment platforms. The company is seeking a visionary and hands‑on Executive Director of Security Architecture to lead the strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of its application security posture. This highly influential role requires both deep technical expertise and business‑aligned leadership. The Executive Director will report to senior leadership and collaborate closely with IT, DevSecOps, product, and business teams to ensure secure application, data, and cloud environments.
This position is ideal for a seasoned cybersecurity professional with hands‑on experience in application architecture and engineering, now focused on designing and implementing robust security strategies across applications, data, and cloud. The role requires balancing technical depth with the ability to translate security strategy into actionable plans aligned with organizational objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity or application security engineering, including at least 5 years in a security architecture leadership role
Expertise in Application Security, DevSecOps, Data Security, and Cloud Security (AWS, Azure preferred)
Deep understanding of secure software development lifecycle (S‑SDLC), IaC, container security, authentication/authorization best practices, and vulnerability assessment techniques
Proficiency with security frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/27002, PCI DSS, OWASP, SAFECode, and industry‑specific entertainment security guidelines
Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, network segmentation, DMZ design, and DDoS mitigation
Demonstrated ability to define technical security standards, governance processes, and reference architectures
Experience leading hands‑on security architecture design reviews and risk assessments across applications, data, and cloud environments
Excellent leadership skills: ability to motivate and develop a team, align security initiatives with business goals, and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, OSCP) strongly preferred

Hands‑on experience with security tools and technologies for application, data, and cloud security
Proven ability to conduct security solution evaluations, POCs, and vendor selection
Strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability in fast‑paced, evolving environments

What You Will Be Doing
Develop and communicate a comprehensive security architecture strategy across application, data, and cloud environments
Define and enforce security architecture, DevSecOps, and technical standards organization‑wide
Conduct hands‑on design reviews, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies for new and existing systems
Evaluate, recommend, and oversee the implementation of cutting‑edge security solutions
Collaborate with IT, development, DevSecOps, and business teams to integrate security best practices across technology lifecycles
Maintain security documentation, reference architectures, and standards aligned with regulatory requirements
Daily Responsibilities
Lead security architecture reviews for applications, cloud, and data environments
Perform in‑depth assessments of current security posture and develop mitigation strategies
Recommend design patterns and security best practices for technology and application implementations
Guide vendor selection, POC testing, and deployment of security solutions
Mentor and support security architecture team members, promoting a culture of secure coding and risk‑aware practices
Ensure all systems comply with industry standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements
