We are seeking an experienced Security Infrastructure Support Security Architect to design, implement, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity architecture across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments. The Security Architect will provide advanced technical leadership, shape secure infrastructure design, and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks and organizational standards.
This role requires a highly technical professional with extensive experience architecting enterprise IT systems, managing cybersecurity platforms, and guiding the secure integration of infrastructure technologies. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on technical depth, strategic architectural vision, and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to both executive and technical audiences.
Responsibilities
Design, architect, and support secure enterprise IT and cybersecurity infrastructures across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, O365).
Lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of cybersecurity tools and SIEM platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance requirements.
Develop secure architecture frameworks to support modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives across complex enterprise environments.
Oversee the design, installation, and support of IT systems to ensure availability, security, and scalability.
Evaluate and recommend cloud security services, best practices, and cost‑optimization strategies for hybrid deployments.
Apply DevSecOps practices, ensuring security automation, secure coding, and continuous monitoring are incorporated into build, test, and deployment processes.
Utilize Python scripting and automation tools to streamline configuration management, monitoring, and integration workflows.
Manage and support a variety of enterprise cybersecurity tools, including SIEM platforms, vulnerability management systems, and endpoint protection technologies.
Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and select appropriate security controls aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards.
Maintain in‑depth understanding of virtualization technologies and best practices to support secure and efficient infrastructure operations.
Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and security teams to define and enforce secure architecture standards across the enterprise.
Develop documentation, SOPs, and executive reports on infrastructure, security posture, tool performance, and system improvements.
Partner with third‑party vendors and cross‑functional teams to integrate solutions, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure consistent delivery of secure infrastructure services.
Mentor team members and guide emerging technologies, architectural best practices, and cybersecurity standards.
Experience
10+ years of experience architecting, designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting complex enterprise IT systems.
At least 5+ years of experience at a Senior Engineer level or higher.
Minimum 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity tools or SIEM implementation and administration.
Proven experience with hybrid (on‑premises and cloud) infrastructures, including AWS, Azure, and O365.
Deep knowledge of cloud security concepts, services, and best practices, including migration, hardening, and cost optimization.
Expertise in virtualization technologies and secure configuration best practices.
Strong scripting skills, particularly in Python, for automation and tool development.
Experience managing Windows and Linux servers, network appliances, patching, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint protection.
Hands‑on experience implementing and maintaining federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST SP 800‑53, NIST SP 800‑92, OMB M‑21‑31, CDM).
Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and the integration of secure code and automation within CI/CD pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to lead architectural initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate across technical and operational teams.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to technical and executive stakeholders.
Proven experience working with third‑party vendors, managing technical partnerships, and coordinating multi‑team projects.
Strong analytical abilities for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex security and infrastructure challenges.
Deep understanding of risk management, data protection, and access control methods to design and implement effective security controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (preferred).
Current government security clearance: Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in information systems, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Experience with Zero Trust Architecture and cloud‑native security tools.
Proven success leading modernization or migration projects in large‑scale federal or enterprise environments.
