Director, Sales - US Retail Consumer Technology & Durables As a New Business Development Leader, you are responsible for leading large, complex sales engagements across a new portfolio of US retail clients. This role will focus on developing commercial strategies to generate new business relationships, building meaningful client relationships, and ultimately closing deals within the Consumer Electronics & Optics Industry.

Responsibilities

Actively prospect within your assigned account list to identify and develop new business opportunities, with a focus on establishing and growing new Cooperative (Coop) agreements. Drive incremental revenue by engaging potential stakeholders, understanding their needs, and tailoring solutions that align with their objectives

With a high degree of urgency, uncover and disseminate retailer, manufacturer and competitive intelligence

Own the entire revenue management process including financial targets, cash flow optimization, billing, pipeline from all business units and contract process

Represent the voice of your clients within the NielsenIQ organization for the collaborative power of winning strategies for both the client and the business

Drive revenue growth by building and growing effective client relationships with senior-level stakeholders and decision makers within the client’s organization

Develop a comprehensive and thorough understanding of NielsenIQ products and solutions

Lead the joint business planning process with the customer, within the account planning cycle

Identify, gain alignment, and sell-in existing and new product concepts to new and existing retail clients

Proactively identify opportunities to develop and enhance existing tools and proceeds for workflow efficiency

Provide thought leadership on the overall expansion of the business including processes, product development, service and marketing

Collaborate with cross-functional business units and key internal stakeholders to gain alignment, design, build and deliver value to our clients

Work all deals through the formalized NielsenIQ Enterprise Sales Process and properly document the process and status in CRM software

Drive high customer satisfaction

Qualifications

8–12+ years of experience in Consumer Electronics (CE), with deep knowledge of industry dynamics, product cycles, and retail partnerships

Proven success in sales leadership, including consultative selling, pipeline management, and revenue growth

3–5 years in market research, insights, or merchandising, or 5+ years in a sales/vendor role serving the CE industry

Strong network across the US retail and CE ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers, and channel partners

Skilled in senior-level communication, strategic planning, and influencing decision-makers

Proficient in financial and contractual management, selling cycles, and CRM tools

Experience with syndicated data offerings, and ability to translate insights into actionable strategies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with adaptability across audiences and functions

Willingness to travel as needed, location flexibility within the US

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

Additional Information This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of the following range:

$117,250.00 - $140,000.00.

Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
