We are a mid-sized, privately held Oil and Gas Exploration & Production company with a diverse portfolio of operated assets. We are actively seeking a
Jr. Reservoir Engineer
to join our team in Houston. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment. This role will play a key part in driving our reserves evaluation, development planning, and business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Support reserve evaluations, production forecasting, and economic analysis for operated and non-operated assets.
Support Senior Reservoir Team and Management on A&D efforts by evaluating Acquisition and Divestiture opportunities through technical and economic analysis.
Build and maintain PHDwin databases; oversee corporate reserves.
Identify and evaluate development opportunities, including infill drilling, recompletions, and workovers.
Collaborate with geoscience and operations teams to optimize development plans and maximize field value.
Support A&D efforts by evaluating acquisition and divestiture opportunities through technical and economic analysis.
Analyze production trends, LOE, AFE costs, and pricing differentials to inform engineering models and business decisions.
Review and interpret revenue statements, historical pricing, and differentials to apply appropriate economic assumptions.
Prepare and present technical evaluations, development strategies, and recommendations to management.
Stay current with horizontal offset activity and competitive trends to inform company strategy.
Provide technical mentorship and oversight to engineering technicians and junior staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 2+ years of reservoir engineering experience with an Oil & Gas operator or Bank.
Strong proficiency in PHDwin (required). Experience with Aires a plus.
Solid understanding of horizontal and vertical decline curve analysis, material balance, type curve generation, and economic modeling.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and production/engineering software (e.g., WellView, AFE Navigator, Enverus, Tableau/PowerBI).
Demonstrated experience working across disciplines to drive asset performance.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical work into actionable business recommendations.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and strategic thinking.
Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), or hold a valid H‑1B visa with authorization to work in the United States.
