Dunamis Energy is seeking a full-time Senior Reservoir Engineer for its downtown Denver location.

The Senior Reservoir Engineer role will provide technical reservoir engineering and subsurface analysis in support of Dunamis Energy’s ongoing acquisition and development strategy.
The candidate will join an established team of highly motivated engineers who take pride in creative and progressive, but data‑driven and engineering supported solutions to today’s subsurface challenges. The candidate will also work closely with production and completion engineers, as well as geologists and geophysicists. Given the required interaction across multiple disciplines, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate technical reservoir engineering concepts to a broad audience, including non‑technical disciplines. Exceptional work ethic, good character, and a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and understanding are highly valued throughout the organization.
Responsibilities The Dunamis Energy Senior Reservoir Engineer’s primary responsibilities are to 1) champion the corporate reserves process, and 2) work alongside the operations team to optimize, surveil, and maintain base production.
Corporate Reserves
You will be responsible for generating the Dunamis Energy internal reserve report, which includes:
Production forecasting – routine decline curve analysis for all wells and all product streams, and rate transient analysis where applicable
LOE analysis – historical trend analysis and integration of Dunamis’ future operation plan
Modelling commercial assumptions from historical and contractual
Coordinating the creation of 3rd party engineering reports on a yearly, or on an as‑needed basis
You will be to perform technical reservoir engineering analysis on proprietary Dunamis Energy datasets, to generate well performance indicators. These performance indicators are used throughout the organization to influence field development planning and strategy, completion optimization, as well as financial and commercial decisions.
The reservoir engineering methods used to arrive at these performance indicators include, but are not limited to rate transient analysis, numerical simulation, and statistical analysis.
You will be responsible for economic lookbacks on a quarterly basis, to include all capital workovers and development drilling.
You will be responsible for communicating well performance to the Dunamis Energy executive team, as well as the broader organization.
Base maintenance
You will be responsible for surveilling base production of ~400 operated producing wells; reporting downtime and coordinating with the production operations team on variance to forecasts
You will be responsible for working with the production operations team to make recommendations for artificial lift.
Conducting routine lease reviews with the production operations team
Technical and economic evaluation of all workovers prior to well work, and full economic lookback of all workovers conducted by the production operations team
Other responsibilities
You will be responsible for competitor and macro analysis to identity area trends outside of the existing asset base
You will be responsible for analyzing proprietary datasets from non-op and trade partners, and communicating observed best practices to the broader organization.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, with a preference of Petroleum Engineering
A minimum of 6 years direct and recent reservoir engineering experience, with a preference of 10–15 years’ experience
Experience with rate transient analysis workflows, with a preference of S&P’s Harmony Forecast and Reservoir software packages
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel & PowerPoint
Proficiency in Spotfire
Proficiency in ComboCurve
Proficiency in Aries petroleum economic evaluation software
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to efficiently set priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Additional Helpful Skillsets
Previous experience in an operations role such as production, completion, and/or facility engineering
Direct experience with Petra or similar geologic software packages
Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000. Actual individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other organizational needs. In addition, our Benefits & Compensation package includes medical and dental coverage, 401(k) match, and generous paid time off.
