Manager, Indirect Tax NA
Location: Calabasas, CA or New York Hybrid (3X a week on-site)

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for U.S. Sales tax filings (with support of Avalara) for Wella & group companies, including for Sales Tax, Use Tax, Property tax, License fee, etc.
Review and responsible for Canadian Indirect tax filings
Prepare, review and responsible for Puerto Rico Indirect tax filings
Coordinate with Finance and Shared Service Centres for timely payment of taxes
Responsible for reconciliation of Sales Tax / Indirect tax filings with SAP financial data / Avalara
Perform month end Balance Sheet reconciliations for Indirect tax in US, Canada and Puerto Rico
Responsible for drawing out strategies to improve collection of Exemption Certificates for US and Puerto Rico customers
Responsible for compliance with Use taxes in US and Canada
Develop and implement process improvements across indirect tax reporting and compliance
Review current indirect tax process, and improve process through use of technology
Partner to the business on indirect tax queries with key stakeholders such as finance, supply chain, customer development, IT, external advisors, and tax authorities
Drive P&L optimization and cash refunds on timely basis and related to Indirect taxes in US, Canada and Puerto Rico
Support the business with GHDs in US / Canada, if applicable
Minimum Qualifications
5 to 10 years of experience in US and Canada Indirect (incl. Sales) taxes
Experience with Big 4 (PWC, E&Y, etc.), large international law firm or multinational tax department; Experience in FMCG industry would be a plus
Good working knowledge of Indirect tax for US and Canada (Sales tax, GST, HST, QST, Use tax, etc.)
Good knowledge of SAP / ERP systems and with Avalara (preferable) or Vertex. Working knowledge is added advantage
Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out timely review and escape, when needed (be pragmatic on solutions)
Strong relationship management and leadership skills
High accountability and responsibility for Indirect taxes in US and Canada
Strong ability to communicate complex or technical topics to non-tax experts / business in simple terms
Able to adapt to change and react with speed, perseverance and tenacity
High level of reliability and personal integrity
Ability to work across cultures with all levels of organization and with different functions.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, required
Passionate and keen to learn
Experience with implementing indirect tax determination solutions within an SAP environment (added advantage)
Compensation We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $100,500 - $134,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
