Position Overview The Residential Support Specialist (RSS) plays a vital, hands‑on role in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive living environment for individuals recovering from medical events while experiencing homelessness or housing instability. The RSS is responsible for ensuring the facility is orderly and well‑stocked, assisting with daily routines, responding to resident needs, and supporting a stable community setting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the facility, including shared spaces, restrooms, and individual rooms.
Conduct regular facility walkthroughs, report and resolve safety issues, and perform light maintenance or cleaning as needed.
Assist with room readiness for move‑ins and clean/turn rooms following move‑outs.
Deliver or assist with meal distribution and ensure that residents are fed according to dietary guidelines and schedule.
Monitor supplies (e.g., food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies) and communicate restocking needs to the appropriate team members.
Conduct and document scheduled bed checks, incident reports, and shift handoffs.
Support clients with basic requests while maintaining healthy boundaries and house rules.
Respond to resident concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when appropriate.
Uphold safety protocols, enforce house rules consistently, and address minor disruptions or conflicts using de‑escalation techniques.
Encourage participation in community activities or meetings when applicable.
Foster a respectful, welcoming environment for all residents, staff, and visitors.
Participate in team meetings and maintain ongoing communication with supervisors and peers.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the facility, residents, and program operations.
Qualifications
Prior experience in residential, shelter, facilities, hospitality, or customer‑facing environments preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
Comfortable performing cleaning, light maintenance, and physically active tasks.
Experience with vulnerable populations and trauma‑informed environments is a plus.
Professional, grounded presence with the ability to respond calmly under pressure.
Willingness to learn and receive feedback in a team environment.
Bilingual (especially Spanish) is helpful but not required.

Pay $20.00 – $22.00 per hour.
