Team and Environment Team: 10 engineers, and 2 in the Linux space. Environment: 15,000 users, 1,500 virtual servers, 1,000 Windows and 300 Linux systems. Nutanix used for servers; Checkpoint and Z-Scaler firewalls. Azure is being adopted for cloud workloads. Two data centers located in

and

Chicago .

Role and Responsibilities

Linux Engineer will have a mix of technologies and skills, primarily Linux focused but with occasional Windows interaction.

Collaborate with Windows engineers to support the entire infrastructure space.

Contribute to moving from older Red Hat versions toward fully implementing RHEL 8, with ongoing work primarily in RHEL 7.

Experience with Red Hat Lifecycle Management (LCM), Satellite for patch management, and related tools (tower SAP on AIX) supporting RHEL platforms.

Build new systems for deployment, troubleshoot issues, and advance the environment. This is a project-delivery focused role, not an administrator or Linux support role.

Qualifications and Skills

Enterprise Linux experience; Red Hat Linux operating systems.

Scripting and automation using Ansible or similar technologies.

Server virtualization and networking experience with VMware, Nutanix, or similar platforms.

Security best practices and deployment in hyperscalers such as Azure and AWS.

Intermediate experience with Ansible automation (network switches, patching, server provisioning, backups, deploying security agents).

Azure administration familiarity; knowledge of compute, Terraform, and Azure policies as the organization moves to the cloud in 2024–2025.

Nice-to-have: experience with F5 load balancers, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, and Nutanix hypervisors.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is

$105,000.00 - $125,000.00

per year.

Extreme autonomy.
