Client Accounting Manager – Brown Edwards
Brown Edwards, one of the largest independent CPA firms in Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee, is seeking a Client Accounting Manager to support clients in the RVA/Coastal Region. This role is based primarily in the Newport News office with hybrid opportunities available.
Responsibilities
Interact with clients to troubleshoot accounting and software issues.
Oversee the client portfolio for the region, ensuring service and satisfaction.
Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability and assist with billings.
Assign staff to clients and monitor the status of work deliverables.
Review staff deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
Follow up on all opportunities and meet with prospective clients to develop estimates.
Participate in hiring of regional client accounting staff.
Supervise and coach staff, conduct performance evaluations, and support professional development.
Provide consulting related to business and cash flow management, including budgets and KPI reports.
Develop accounting systems to meet client needs and use the firm’s technology stack effectively.
Travel to client sites and other Brown Edwards locations as needed.
Attend continuing professional education to develop skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
5+ years of bookkeeping or similar accounting experience.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial statement preparation.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Proven ability to manage client engagements and relationships.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
Strong background in business operations.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
QBO Certified ProAdvisor a plus.
