The Worship Leader provides pastoral and musical leadership that helps people experience and respond to God through worship. This role leads worship for Sunday services, midweek gatherings, and Re:Gen, while developing and overseeing the Re:Gen worship ministry. The Worship Leader recruits, disciples, and equips volunteers, fostering both spiritual and musical growth within the team. In partnership with the Worship Pastor, this person helps plan services, coach vocalists and musicians, maintain worship systems and equipment, and contribute to songwriting and production. The role combines pastoral care, musical leadership, and technical excellence to create worship environments that reflect the heart and mission of Cherry Hills Community Church.
Responsibilities
Lead worship and shepherd the congregation through prayer, Scripture, and music in Sunday services, Re:Gen, and midweek gatherings
Provide pastoral care and guidance to worship volunteers through prayer, encouragement, and discipleship
Lead, develop, and oversee the Re:Gen worship ministry, ensuring strong team culture and spiritual growth
Assist in planning and shaping worship sets that support the message and invite authentic congregational engagement
Lead worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar or piano) with skill and consistency
Recruit, onboard, and mentor worship volunteers, helping them grow in faith, character, and capability
Manage Planning Center for Re:Gen worship, including scheduling, resources, and communication
Coach and develop team members in musicianship, vocals, and worship leadership
Lead team devotionals and prayer times that deepen understanding of biblical worship
Collaborate with the Worship Pastor to design services, set musical direction, and foster team unity
Participate in songwriting and music production that reflects the mission and theology of CHCC
Support all-church worship events and seasonal services (e.g., Christmas, Easter, VBS) through leadership and preparation
Build meaningful relationships with volunteers through intentional connection outside rehearsals and services
Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork by serving in various worship and ministry settings as needed
Partner with other ministry areas (production, communications, pastoral care, next gen, etc.) to deliver cohesive worship experiences
Help with creating, preparing, and testing of Ableton and support equipment
Active growth in understanding music and equipment trends and their impact on worship spaces
Active growth in understanding the theology of biblical worship
Evaluate and assess effectiveness of all gatherings for future improvement
Assist in maintaining worship spaces, equipment, and supplies

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Music, Worship Arts, Ministry, or a related field preferred; equivalent ministry experience considered.
Experience leading worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar or piano) in a church or ministry setting.
Familiarity with Planning Center required; willing to be trained on Ableton and related worship technologies.
Experience in vocal arranging, songwriting, and music production preferred.
Experience developing and working with worship volunteers preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively across teams in service planning and execution.
Available for evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
Must be located in commutable distance to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, United States.
Must pass a CHCC background check.
Qualifications and Competencies
Strong interpersonal and pastoral skills; able to build trust, care for volunteers, and foster a healthy team culture.
Effective communicator—clear, warm, and confident in both platform leadership and team collaboration.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in planning and execution.
Flexible and responsive to the dynamic needs of weekend and midweek ministry environments.
Committed to ongoing personal growth in leadership, worship ministry, and biblical understanding.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); able to utilize standard tools for documentation, communication, and task coordination.
Demonstrate proficiency with common office technologies, including email, printers/copiers, shared drives, and organizational software platforms; able to troubleshoot basic issues and learn new tools quickly.
Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.
