Graduate Research Assistant – DOM: Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science
Join the Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science (CDIS) at the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Graduate Research Assistant supporting an NIH‑funded study addressing health disparities among Latina teens. The role focuses on delivering workshops, collecting data, and contributing to research operations.
Project Overview CDIS partners with community‑based organizations to deliver the Floreciendo sexual and reproductive health program to Latina teens and their caregivers in a pilot randomized optimization trial.
Position Summary 24‑hour per week commitment with responsibilities including participant consent, questionnaire administration, workshop logistics, data entry, IRB support, and community advisory board engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Consenting study participants in English and Spanish.
Administering questionnaires and feedback forms in English and Spanish.
Conducting STI testing among teen participants (training provided).
Observing workshops and supporting workshop logistics.
Contributing to data entry, management, and analysis.
Participating in community advisory board activities.
Performing administrative tasks such as IRB submissions and meeting notes.
Performing other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in public health, social work, psychiatry, or a related social science field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational skills.
Available to travel to community partner organizations throughout the Chicagoland area for weekend workshops (primarily Saturdays).
Preferred Qualifications
Research experience with Latino teens and/or families.
Experience with REDCap and/or MAXQDA.
