This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Position Information:

Adjunct. Position Summary : Adjunct Instructor for basic machine shop courses. Instruct students on aspects of machining and understanding of machine shop safety. Minimum Qualifications : Associate’s in Applied Science degree in the field of study AND five (5) years of related work experience. OR Ten (10) years of related work experience in the field. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Operate power machinery such as drill presses, lathes, mills, grinders, and hydraulic presses. Understanding of machine shop processes performed in manufacturing machined parts. Ability to instruct and conduct a classroom environment. Job Duties : Teach courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Make continuous effort to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes. Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials. Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the course syllabus guidelines and facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of content goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work. Hold scheduled, posted virtual or physical office hours of at least one (1) hour daily and be available for and encourage conferences with students so there is a clearer understanding of the students work and the possibility of improvement.
