Job Summary The University of North Carolina Greensboro seeks a transformative and innovative leader to serve as Dean of its School of Education. This is a pivotal moment to reimagine how the School prepares educators, counselors, and leaders to meet the demands of a rapidly changing educational landscape. The Dean will lead a talented team of faculty and staff, unify the School’s portfolio of academic programs, foster a shared identity, and champion innovative approaches to program development while ensuring alignment with the School’s core values and broader goals of the University.
Responsibilities Lead the School’s faculty and staff to advance academic and professional excellence. Build and maintain strong community partnerships to enhance the School’s visibility and impact locally, across North Carolina, and beyond. Develop and implement strategic plans for program development, resource management, and the School’s long-term vision. Cultivate a climate of open communication, transparency, and empathy that supports staff, students, and the broader community. Act as a coalition builder, fostering trust and relationships across campus, with alumni, donors, and external partners.
Qualifications Demonstrated record of academic achievement and leadership in higher education. Deep understanding of the challenges facing public education and experience navigating complex institutions. Strategic planning skills and proficiency in resource management. Leadership style grounded in open communication, transparency, and empathy.
