Role Summary The Silicon Solutions team of Lockheed Martin Space is building the best ASIC/FPGA team in the world. We seek highly talented and motivated ASIC & FPGA Engineers who have a passion for microchip design and space. As an ASIC & FPGA Design Engineer you will support over 50 different programs and R&D efforts across military space, civil space, commercial space, missiles, missile defense, satellite surveillance, deep‑space exploration, and manned flight missions.

Responsibilities – Design, simulate, verify, and validate ASIC and FPGA hardware for space‑critical applications.

– Participate in the full life‑cycle activities: architecture definition, RTL coding (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis, timing analysis, functional verification, and board‑level integration and testing.

– Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements, resolve technical issues, and meet program milestones.

– Maintain design documentation and support knowledge transfer across the team.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.

Experience or coursework in FPGA and/or ASIC device design.

HDL programming experience with VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.

Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a

DoD Secret

clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

Experience with the ASIC/FPGA life cycle: architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration, and test.

Knowledge of digital design, development, and simulation tools.

Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. A

DoD Secret

clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary ranges from $62,700 to $110,630 in most U.S. states, and $72,200 to $125,005 in major metropolitan areas, commensurate with experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) with match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, holidays, and an incentive plan. Paid time off and vacation are prorated based on the start date.

Work Schedule Position is onsite full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work schedule includes a 9‑x‑80 split with every other Friday off.
