Blend Expert Team (R&D Laboratory Technician) Additives Technology R&D Laboratory Technician
Blend Expert Team (BET) is currently seeking a Research Technician to support research & product development, customer support and technical service activities. This position is located in Chevron's Richmond, CA Technology Center. The successful candidate will work in a team of scientists and engineers, mainly providing laboratory support to the Team's projects.
Responsibilities
Blending additive packages and finished oils for testing.
Scheduling blends and tests and coordinating shipping of samples.
Conducting basic laboratory bench tests.
Analyzing test results, with charts and graphs when possible.
Interpreting data and making recommendations.
Reporting findings and conclusions in oral and written formats.
Preparing summaries and maintaining records.
Assisting in designing testing protocols and research programs.
Managing laboratory, including chemical inventory and instrument maintenance
Required Qualifications
BS degree in chemistry or a related field, or 3+ years of experience working in the additives for lubricating oils or lubricants industry, in lieu of the degree.
Skilled in basic laboratory procedures, with at least 1 year of experience working in chemical or blending laboratories.
Demonstrated experience conducting laboratory work safely and accurately.
Demonstrated skills in basic laboratory procedures.
Communicates clearly and provides timely updates.
Ability to prepare summaries and present results.
Demonstrated computer skills (e.g., MS Office.)
Ability to work well in a Team Oriented environment and understand Team's objectives and individual responsibilities. Works well with team members and willing to help others when business needs require.
Committed to always following Chevron's 10 Tenets of OE and to SWA.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working with additives for lubricating oils.
Ability to manage daily activities with minimal supervision.
Capable of working on multiple concurrent projects.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,700– $116,600. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
