Newly reopened in the summer of 2025, this beloved waterfront spot operated by the Luke's Lobster team has been revitalized under the leadership of Chef Matt Ginn, who has taken the helm as General Manager. Who We're Looking For

We're hiring for general Support Team members who help keep our restaurant running smoothly and our guests happy. Shifts may vary and include responsibilities across three key roles:
  • Hosts: Greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and setting the tone for a welcoming experience.
  • Bussers: Clearing and resetting tables, polishing silverware and glassware, and assisting servers to keep the dining room organized.
  • Runners: Delivering food from the kitchen to tables efficiently and accurately, ensuring every plate is presentable and guest-ready.
We're looking for energetic, team-oriented individuals who communicate clearly, move efficiently, and take pride in contributing to a seamless, high-quality guest experience. We're looking for people who can balance hospitality with efficiency, stay composed under pressure, and work as a key part of the Front-of-House team.If you're passionate about creating memorable guest experiences and ready to make your mark on something special, we want to meet you!

Duties & Responsibilities

We offer delicious, high-quality seafood that our guests love. To make that happen you'll be able to-
  • Greet and engage guests warmly, assisting with seating and any immediate needs.
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized dining room.
  • Deliver food and beverages accurately and promptly from kitchen or bar to tables.
  • Assist servers, runners, and other team members as needed to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain service stations, including stocking napkins, silverware, condiments, and to-go supplies.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and compliance guidelines while handling food, beverages, and equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and managers about guest needs, inventory, or service issues.
  • Stay alert and proactive, anticipating guest needs and helping wherever needed.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Hosting/Bussing/Food Runningin a high-volume setting preferred; willing to train the right person!
  • Friendly, team-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional Guest service.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and attitude.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10-25 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to handle shellfish / tolerate exposure to shellfish allergen (required)


About the Dry Dock

Originally opened in 1983 and closed in 2018, the Dry Dock is a two-story restaurant facing the waterfront that re-opened with an expanded deck and renovated interiors in the summer of 2025. The Luke's Lobster team operates the restaurant located at 84 Commercial Street, just down the street from their first Maine location on Portland Pier.

The Dry Dock features high quality, and responsibly sourced seafood including a premier raw bar in a warm, inviting atmosphere, with a full beverage program, intended for both visitors and locals alike.

Luke's Lobster was founded in 2009 by Maine native and third-generation lobsterman, Luke Holden, to bring the quality lobster rolls of his youth to NYC. A certified B Corp, Luke's now has over 25 locations across the US, locations in Japan and Singapore, and can be found in grocery stores nationwide.
