This role is based at Pocket FM, an audio OTT platform with a vast library of series, podcasts, and audiobooks. Pocket FM has 100 million listeners and streams over 4 billion minutes of audio monthly.
Position Overview As a Creative Development Lead for the Romance and Drama verticals within the US Creative Development team, you will lead the adaptation of our Romance and Drama IP into high‑quality, long‑form audio dramas. Your mission is to combine creative instincts with data‑driven research to produce best‑in‑class shows that excite audiences and help Pocket FM achieve its growth goals.
Responsibilities
Lead creative development from pre‑production through launch for assigned Romance and Drama projects, ensuring high‑quality scripts, production, and consistent creative vision.
Develop internal creative strategy for each title, building adaptation plans that align with US sensibilities while retaining fan appeal.
Manage project budgets and timelines, coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver on schedule.
Provide creative feedback on scripts and audio assets to deliver the best possible version of each show.
Oversee marketing and launch plans, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Advocate for shows internally, promoting their value to Pocket FM audiences.
Execute cross‑functional planning and optimization, creating release schedules and launch strategies that target key performance metrics.
Monitor and analyze show performance, making data‑driven optimizations to maximize success.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain clear communication and alignment around shows and audiences.
Act as a subject‑matter expert for strategy initiatives aimed at deepening audience understanding.
Support the Genre Head and Head of Content Strategy in defining content strategy, goals, and objectives company‑wide.
Provide input to refine the US content commissioning strategy based on current slate success.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, vertical priorities, and audience preferences, and analyze the competitive landscape.
Infuse audience expertise into content strategies to meet evolving needs.
Qualifications
3–5 years of creative development experience, preferably at an audio platform, streaming/OTT service, or web‑fiction‑focused digital platform.
Project management experience working with writers, actors, and production staff to complete projects on time and under budget.
Deep domain knowledge of Romance and Drama, familiarity with global web‑fiction audiences, and experience adapting foreign IP for the US market.
Data‑driven experience, using insights to shape creative material.
Strong understanding of media trends, audience behavior, and market dynamics.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Bachelor’s degree in film/TV, media, screenwriting, or a related field.
