About the Role DramaBox is redefining mobile‑first storytelling through emotionally explosive, binge‑worthy vertical dramas that hook viewers in under 90 seconds. We’re looking for a
Screenwriter
to develop compelling, genre‑driven stories designed for serialized short‑form video.
In this role, you’ll create original storylines, write scripts, and help craft the voice of some of the most addictive vertical dramas on mobile. Whether it’s romance, revenge, fantasy, or thriller—you know how to elevate emotion, land a cliffhanger, and keep audiences swiping for more.
What You’ll Do
Pitch and develop original concepts—or adapt pre‑existing IPs—into shows that work within 1–2 minute episode structures
Write loglines, beat sheets, and full scripts with strong emotional hooks and genre precision
Build serialized stories with high‑stakes arcs, character momentum, and satisfying turns
Collaborate with editors and development executives to revise scripts and integrate feedback
Stay current on vertical storytelling trends, genre shifts, and audience behavior across mobile platforms
Contribute to a high‑volume, high‑impact development slate with multiple active titles in production
Who You Are
3+ years of screenwriting experience across TV, digital, web series, game writing, or serialized fiction
A sharp storyteller with strong instincts for structure, tension, and pacing—especially in ultra‑short formats
Comfortable writing across multiple genres, especially romance, melodrama, thriller, fantasy, or supernatural
Able to write dynamic, emotionally charged dialogue that lands fast and feels real
Collaborative, self‑directed, and excited by rapid iteration in a fast‑paced writers’ environment
Passionate about mobile‑first formats and eager to experiment with new narrative forms
Have written for vertical short drama platforms (e.g., DramaBox, ReelShort, PocketFM)
Have experience with interactive narratives, visual novels, or mobile story apps
Are proficient with Final Draft or other professional screenwriting tools
Follow international trends in webnovels, serialized romance, or mobile entertainment
