Social Media Producer, Marketing (Temporary)

The Marketing team plays an important part in extending the journalistic legacy and mission of the Times into the future. Our job is to answer the question, “Why is quality journalism worth paying for?” We create award-winning marketing that demonstrates our mission and shows readers how subscribing benefits them.
As a Social Media Producer (Temporary) you will be a member of the in-house Social team, developing and producing content for our marketing-led Instagram and TikTok platforms.
You will report to the Director of Social and Influencer, Creative Marketing. This is a hybrid role based in NYC with an in-office requirement of 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Lead the resourcing of the social team to ensure efficient end-to-end creation of content, coordinating with project management, marketing and creative leadership.
Work with marketing and creative leadership to refine the creative development process.
Partner with project management to create project-level and post-specific timelines with accountability to deadlines.
Coordinate shoots and content capture with journalists, podcast hosts and external subjects, their teams and agencies where applicable.
Provide a POV and help introduce new social tools (e.g., Sprout) to improve our operation and make it less manual.
Ensure best practices and refinements are born from insights and help to manage the feedback process.
Demonstrate support of NYT mission and our value of journalistic independence and a commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Basic Qualifications:
7+ years experience growing a social media account.
7+ years experience with social media operations and the creative process and video shoot production experience.
Experience in operational tools (e.g., scheduling, analytics), systems within the social media space, Airtable and resourcing skills.
Experience in social media best practices, online trends and conversations and knowledge of which content and formats work on different platforms.
