Primary Care Physician Lead – CenterWell Senior Primary Care

is inviting applications for the Primary Care Physician Lead role.
This position is full‑time (40 hours per week) and reports directly to the Market CMO.
Pay Range
Base pay: $223,800.00/yr – $313,100.00/yr
Dependent on clinical performance and experience
Responsibilities
Provide clinical oversight and administrative leadership for the Market Clinical team.
Spend a portion of time providing direct patient care; the remainder supports clinical operations and quality improvement.
Develop and execute the clinical strategy for your patient panel and for the clinicians you lead.
Collaborate with the Market CMO, Operational Leadership, and Clinical Leadership to advance the Model of Care, create profit‑improvement initiatives, design operational implementations, and support strategic intent.
Oversee other clinicians—including physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNP), and physician assistants (PA)—by:
Maintaining collaborative/supervisory agreements per state protocol.
Assisting with panel management and education around clinical protocols.
Providing guidance on patient terminations, behavioral concerns, and daily clinical issues in collaboration with Compliance and Clinical Leadership.
Assisting with PTO management, CME time, and reimbursement requests.
Conducting performance reviews and resolving patient/clinical staff inquiries.
Managing behavioral concerns of supervised staff and supporting clinical schedule templates and coverage.
Make decisions related to complex technical and operational problems within clinics/centers, including financial and operational performance management.
Participate in provider committees (Technology Governance, EMR Optimization, etc.) and attend meetings regularly.
Participate in quality improvement programs, population health programs, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
Assist in recruiting and interviewing potential clinical staff, patient retention and marketing activities, and serve as a community representative in media and press activities.
Other duties as directed by the Market CMO.
Required Qualifications
Current and unrestricted medical license (or willing to obtain one in SC).
Graduate of an accredited MD or DO program.
Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine (preferred).
Active and unrestricted DEA license.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues and patients.
Fully engaged in an integrated team‑based care model.
Willingness and ability to work in a value‑based care setting.
Superior patient/customer service orientation.
Basic computer skills (email, EMR).
Passion for improving consumer experiences.
Required: TB screening and eligibility for TB program if selected.
Preferred Qualifications
Active DEA license.
Medicare Provider Number.
Medicaid Provider Number.
Minimum of three to five years directly applicable clinical experience.
Experience managing Medicare Advantage panels and knowledge of best practice in value‑based care.
Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and HEDIS quality indicators.
Strong coding, documentation, and technological proficiency.
Problem‑solving and team collaboration skills.
Accountable, goal‑oriented approach to achieving results.
Strong clinical and program design knowledge, especially regarding utilization and value‑based metrics.
