Lumber & Building Supply Store Manager
to join their team in
Sterling, Virginia .
The ideal candidate will manage a team, oversee inventory, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive sales growth. Success in this role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and a proactive, hands‑on management approach.
What We Offer
$68,000 – $82,000 annual starting salary based on your knowledge and experience.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 7 am – 4:30 pm and every third Saturday 8 am – 12 noon.
What You Will Do
Managing daily store operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and team oversight.
Hiring, training, scheduling, and leading employees to ensure top performance and great teamwork.
Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving any issues with professionalism and care.
Overseeing inventory—tracking stock levels, placing orders, and managing incoming shipments.
Driving sales performance by setting goals and implementing smart, effective strategies.
Keeping a close eye on pricing, margins, and promotions to maximize profitability.
Collaborating with your team to create a welcoming environment and a great customer experience.
Providing regular reports on sales, inventory and team performance to support continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
3 or more years of experience in retail or building materials sales, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
In‑depth knowledge of lumber products, building materials and construction‑related supplies.
Strong leadership, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and operate store equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required; familiarity with Epicor Bistrack POS a bonus.
