Vangst is partnering with a leading multi-brand cannabis company based in Washington that’s expanding into new U.S. and international markets. The company has built a reputation for

premium products, innovative brand launches, and strong retail partnerships

across multiple regions. They are now seeking a

Marketing Director

to lead their growing marketing department — bringing

strategic direction, operational excellence, and creative leadership

to drive the next stage of growth and expansion. Role Overview

The

Marketing Director

will oversee all aspects of marketing strategy, brand management, and campaign execution across multiple consumer brands. This is a

hands‑on leadership role

— balancing high‑level strategy with active involvement in execution. The ideal candidate has strong experience in

consumer packaged goods (CPG)

or cannabis marketing, understands how to grow brand awareness and sell‑through at retail, and can effectively lead teams and vendors through complex, multi‑market initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the company’s annual and quarterly marketing strategies, aligning with overall sales and revenue objectives. Partner with leadership to translate business goals into actionable marketing plans and programs. Prioritize campaigns and initiatives to maximize efficiency and ROI. Strengthen the company’s position as an innovative, nationally recognized cannabis brand. Lead, mentor, and develop the internal marketing team, including managers, assistants, contractors, and brand ambassadors. Oversee relationships with creative and production vendors (design, content, social, and photography). Foster collaboration between marketing, sales, and operations. Campaigns & Launches

Oversee product launches and retail campaigns, ensuring strong execution and consumer engagement. Manage field marketing programs — including vendor days, in‑store activations, and promotional campaigns. Plan and execute high‑visibility launches in new markets (beginning with New Jersey in 2025), including brand ambassador programs and retail activations. Equip the sales team with effective tools and resources such as sales decks, one‑pagers, and training materials. Track campaign performance, partner engagement, and asset utilization to ensure data‑driven improvements. Marketing Operations

Own marketing budgets, reporting, and spend optimization. Oversee content calendars, packaging updates, digital asset management, and marketing system organization. Expansion & Brand Building

Develop scalable marketing playbooks for market entry into new states and international markets. Shape brand storytelling and positioning for new territories. Establish a strong local marketing presence through field activations and ambassador programs. Qualifications

8+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity. CPG experience required;

cannabis industry experience strongly preferred. Proven track record of driving profitable growth through campaigns and retail programs. Experience leading new market entry or expansion initiatives. Strong leadership and team development skills. Highly organized, with exceptional project management and communication abilities. Skilled in balancing creative direction with data‑driven decision‑making. What Success Looks Like

Marketing campaigns and product launches consistently achieve sales and engagement goals. The sales team is fully supported with updated materials and brand tools. Marketing operations run efficiently with clear accountability. ROI on marketing spend is measurable and positive. Successful market entry and brand presence established in new territories.
