Role Summary We’re looking for an experienced, high‑energy HVAC Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team and help deliver innovative HVAC design solutions for heavy industrial clients. You will work alongside a multi‑disciplinary team to perform field investigations, interface with clients & vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages. You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks as you gain familiarity with our clients’ expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
Responsibilities
Layout and design of HVAC systems
Develop design criteria for HVAC systems, including general comfort heating and cooling, accurate temperature or humidity control, unique pressurization requirements, and/or cleanliness requirements for clean room applications
Develop conceptual and preliminary design documents, including sizing and selection calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements
Develop final design documents including specifications, sequences of operation, duct/piping layout, and final construction documents for chilled water, cooling water, etc.
Coordinate with other disciplines
Qualifications
Professional Engineering License
At least ten (10) years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems for industrial facilities
Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Adaptability to work within a fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines
Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and collaborate with other discipline team members remotely
Ideally You’ll Also Have
Software experience in Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D
Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems
