Summary The Financial Controller is responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. They ensure the integrity of financial data, provide strategic insights, and support organizational goals through effective financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
Accounting Oversight: Supervise general ledger activities, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliation processes.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies; manage audits and liaise with external auditors.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting/finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
Strategic Support: Provide financial insights to senior management for decision-making, cost optimization, and profitability analysis.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure liquidity for operational needs.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in financial systems and processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
