Associate Veterinarian
We are seeking an
Experienced Veterinarian
to join our team at Burnsville Animal Clinic. This position is full‑time, 3–4 days a week, with a rotating Saturday component, no Sundays. The clinic is AAHA‑accredited, fear‑free, and located in the Minneapolis South metro area.

Job Summary The Associate DVM ensures high quality veterinary care, client service, employee well‑being, and productivity of the veterinary medical team. The Principal Doctor and Practice Manager will partner with the Associate DVM to maintain the hospital’s medical quality and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver consistent, high‑quality care and maintain a positive hospital environment.
Adhere to WellHaven protocols and standards, overseeing staff to prioritize practice goals.
Collaborate with the Principal Doctor to establish development plans aligned with hospital objectives.
Practice veterinary medicine in compliance with applicable laws and codes.
Maintain thorough and accurate medical charting for all patients.
Provide client communication via in‑person visits, phone, and email.
Participate in community events, marketing initiatives, and hospital projects.
Demonstrate proficiency in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and current medical practices.
Advocate for exceptional client service and patient well‑being.
Provide medical training to support staff; lead and manage staff as needed.
Customer Service Delivery
Consistently provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service.
Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills with the veterinary team and clients.
Adapt effectively to individual client needs.
Resolve customer complaints appropriately.
Other Requirements
Lead and guide the team to ensure hospital safety standards (DEA and OSHA).
Meet all OSHA standards and company policies.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Uphold integrity and ethics in all actions.
Continuously learn emerging veterinary medicine advances through education.
Demonstrate motivation and determination to achieve goals.

Education and Experience
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.
State Veterinary Board license.
Good standing with the state(s) of employment on the first day.
USDA Accreditation is a plus.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Requirements
The position is performed onsite at the hospital; remote work is not available.
Schedules may include >10‑hour shifts, Saturdays, evenings, and holidays.
Physical requirements: standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, lifting 50+ lbs, and potential exposure to pets, biological hazards, anesthesia, and controlled substances.
