Technical Release Manager

Technical Release Manager to lead and coordinate application migration releases as part of our AWS migration program. This role is focused primarily on the application migration track, but will cut across infrastructure, DevOps, IAM, InfoSec, and workload assessment teams to ensure smooth, secure, and compliant migration and cutovers. The Release Manager will be accountable for release execution discipline, enforcing checklists/playbooks/tollgates, and embedding lessons learned into every migration wave. Key Responsibilities

Drive end-to-end release execution for application migrations to AWS (re-host, re-platform, re-deploy). Collaborate with application teams to define migration readiness, dependencies, and cutover plans. Coordinate across infrastructure, DevOps, IAM, and InfoSec teams to ensure environments, pipelines, and access controls are ready before migration. Lead tollgate reviews and enforce migration checklists, playbooks, and rollback strategies. Ensure IAM policies, roles, firewall, connectivity, and security controls are validated as part of release readiness. Partner with InfoSec to validate compliance and embed security controls into release criteria. Oversee integration of DevOps pipelines (CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) into release processes. Validate workload assessment outcomes (dependencies, sizing, performance testing) are addressed before release approval. Act as the cutover commander – coordinating app, infra, and security teams during migration go-lives. Capture post-release learnings and update:

Release checklist (e.g., IAM access, monitoring setup, compliance validation) Tollgates (approval checkpoints across app, infra, DevOps, IAM, InfoSec) Track and report release KPIs (downtime, rollback frequency, defect leakage, migration success rate).

Required Skills & Experience

8-12 years of IT experience with 4+ years in Release/Deployment Management in application migration programs. Strong understanding of application migration approaches (re-host, re-platform, re-deploy) and workload dependencies. Exposure to AWS services relevant to app migration. Networking & Access: VPC, Route 53, IAM, Security Groups, KMS. Knowledge of DevOps tooling & CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Cloudbee, Terraform). Experience coordinating with InfoSec teams for compliance-driven releases (encryption, IAM, audit readiness). Proven ability to cut across silos (app, infra, IAM, DevOps, security) and enforce migration readiness before releases. Strong troubleshooting skills in application deployment and AWS environment cutovers. Good to Have

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional or DevOps Engineer. Familiarity with application performance testing and workload assessment frameworks. Prior experience in regulated industries (banking, insurance, healthcare). Knowledge of container migrations (Docker → EKS/ECS). Life at Capgemini
