Position Title: Horticulture Professor of Practice (Post # P2236F)
Project Start: August 16, 2026
Responsibilities
Instructor of record for horticulture courses including HORT 2210, HORT 3280, HORT 3910, HORT 3950, and HORT 5210/6210.
Advise AU Landscape and Nursery Association (AULNA) student club.
Lead hands‑on student learning projects at Auburn University Transformation Garden.
Adjust semester‑based course load in alignment with college instructional workload guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned Master’s degree in Horticulture with an emphasis in landscape horticulture (required).
Minimum 5 years of experience teaching landscape‑related courses and/or supporting the commercial landscape industry.
Outstanding teaching, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
Passionate about teaching undergraduate students and developing hands‑on skills.
Eligibility to work in the United States (required).
Desired Qualifications
PhD in horticulture with an emphasis on landscape horticulture.
Experience teaching at a community college or in an undergraduate horticulture program.
Strong background in commercial landscape construction and maintenance industry as a business owner or manager.
