This position provides professional dental care for youth in the custody of OCFS, diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct examinations utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors, and diagnostic instruments to determine pathological or irregular conditions.
Treat dental diseases, injuries, and malfunctions of teeth and gums.
Perform restoration of simple and compound cavities.
Administer anesthetics.
Perform extractions, scaling, and root canal procedures as appropriate.
Maintain written records of individual dental treatments.
Advise individuals about dental health practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Current registration and license to practice dentistry in New York State.
Valid New York State license and registration.
Fit the NY HELPS Statewide Program requirements.
