Overview
A global manufacturing organization is seeking a strategic leader to serve as Director of S&OP and Supply Chain Excellence for one of its core business divisions. This role is responsible for driving the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, optimizing supply chain performance, and leading cross-functional initiatives that align operations with business goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in supply chain strategy, analytics, and team leadership. Responsibilities
S&OP Leadership: Establish and manage a structured S&OP process that aligns sales, operations, and finance. Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings and ensure cross-functional alignment on forecasts and capacity planning. Supply Chain Optimization: Improve supply chain responsiveness, cost-efficiency, and service levels across inventory, transportation, and warehousing. Lead initiatives to enhance inventory turnover, forecast accuracy, and on-time delivery. Performance Metrics & Analytics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain and S&OP effectiveness. Conduct gap analyses and scenario modeling to support risk mitigation and strategic decision-making. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and implement best practices to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Drive continuous improvement in inventory management and supply chain workflows. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of supply chain and S&OP professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance. Champion change management initiatives across the organization. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders including sales, manufacturing, operations, finance, and executive leadership. Influence decision-making and ensure alignment across departments. Risk Management: Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Strategic Planning & Digitization: Contribute to long-term strategic planning for supply chain and S&OP functions. Promote the adoption of digital tools and analytics to enhance performance and compliance. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field. Experience in multi-site manufacturing with a global footprint. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau). Proven track record in S&OP, demand/supply planning, and inventory optimization. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Effective communicator with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA). Experience in the chemical or process manufacturing industry. Familiarity with global supply chain challenges and opportunities. Work Environment
Based at corporate headquarters with occasional travel to manufacturing sites or customer locations. 4 days a week on site (M-Th); remote work on Fridays. Seniority level
