Postdoctoral Fellow – Psychology
Join UNSW as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Psychology. The role is a fixed‑term 2‑year full‑time (35h) position working closely with the Australian Defence Force to promote better mental health among personnel.
About The Role
Salary $113k–$121k plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
Fixed Term – 2 years
Full time (35 hours)
Specific Responsibilities
Contribute independently and collaboratively with the research team to conduct intervention studies on mental health.
Review literature on mental health in defence personnel and common mental disorders.
Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader.
Prepare manuscripts for peer‑review publication, including statistical reporting and literature reviews.
Present at conferences and workshops as required.
Demonstrate UNSW Code of Conduct and Values.
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
About The Successful Applicant
A PhD in a related discipline and relevant experience in mental health.
Demonstrated experience with sophisticated statistical analyses.
Demonstrated ability to synthesise peer‑reviewed literature.
Experience working in a research management role.
Commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge.
High‑quality independent research under limited supervision.
Track record of publications and conference presentations.
Team‑work and effective relationship building.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Strong communication with diverse stakeholders.
Understanding of UNSW aims, objectives and values.
Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and training.
