Paralegal II – District Attorney

Join the County of San Diego’s Office of the District Attorney as a Paralegal II. The role supports attorneys in complex criminal cases and supervises subordinate paralegal staff under attorney supervision. Responsibilities

Independently perform the full range of paralegal duties for complex cases. Assist attorneys in preparing for preliminary hearings, grand jury, and trial. Supervise and mentor paralegal I staff. Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an effective communicator who is customer‑focused, respectful, supportive of change, demonstrates ethical behavior, and embraces teamwork and continuous learning. Education and Experience

At least two years of full‑time journey‑level paralegal experience in a law or government office assisting in trial preparation under attorney supervision. At least two years of experience as a Paralegal I in the County of San Diego. Hiring Process and Timeline

Job offer and background process begins shortly after interviews. Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening. Pre‑employment medical screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results. Anticipated start date: based on successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed date. Evaluation
