Base pay: $145,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Lead, manage, direct and support the work of the Foundation, including staff and initiatives.
Implement comprehensive fund development program incorporating annual giving, capital campaigns, alumni events and major gift fundraising.
Work with President’s leadership team supporting strategic growth initiatives.
Oversee foundation operations, fiduciary obligations, strategic plan, policies, procedures, by-laws, and state and federal regulations.
Manage board relationships, maintain ongoing relationships with College Board Trustees and Program Advisory Boards.
Identify and cultivate potential volunteer leadership for board development, events and future capital campaigns.
Implement and manage a comprehensive major gifts program focusing on gifts of $50,000 or more.
Direct and support Foundation staff in an overall team approach to translating program priorities into action plans and gift opportunities and match them to donor interests.
Work with high-level volunteers and key faculty and executive staff to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects.
Prepare cultivation and solicitation strategies and policies for volunteers, College faculty/staff and the college President and oversee follow-up strategies for each donor prospect and stewardship activities.
Work with Director of Donor Experience and Alumni Engagement to develop and approve solicitation, marketing, and publication materials.
Work with Foundation staff, design and coordinate events and other activities for alumni and donor stewardship and cultivation.
Oversee administration of gifts to the Foundation through bequests, trusts, life insurance or other vehicles to benefit the Foundation’s future.
Maintain current knowledge/updates of tax law, finance and current trends in philanthropy.
Ensure Foundation Scholarship Program compliance, Awards and Funds, maintain and update departmental and donor agreements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum: bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred, 5-7 years direct experience soliciting major gifts and board management, preferably in an academic environment.
Excellent fund development, institutional advancement, supervisory and board development skills.
Ability to articulate institution’s goals and mission to multiple constituencies.
Collaborative team-oriented style with outstanding strategic planning and thinking skills.
Outstanding communication skills including writing, speaking, tactics for diverse stakeholders.
Experience leading and developing dynamic integrated fundraising operation with overlapping workstreams such as annual giving, capital campaigns, scholarships, and planned giving.
Strong organizational skills, ability to push initiatives, manage multiple priorities.
Ability to function effectively in complex organizational environment requiring flexibility, patience, good humor and focus; willing to travel, attend evening and weekend events.
Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts or professional outside sales experience with lead generation, case preparation and closing.
Previous Foundation or Non-Profit Board Experience preferred.
Experience with Razors Edge/Banner/Academic Works or equivalent donor management system.
