Overview As a Platform Engineer, you’ll build and maintain the backend services that power Speechify’s product stack—payments, analytics, subscriptions, text‑to‑speech, and external APIs. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast‑paced environments, and enjoys building great user experiences.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs, including the public TTS API and internal services such as Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking.
Oversee the entire backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
Qualifications
Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript/Node (required).
Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
Strong ability to prioritise tasks by urgency and impact.
Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerised deployments.
Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high‑availability applications on Kubernetes.
