Position Mid-Level Database Administrator
The Database (DB) Administrator will ensure that the DB systems stay compliant by monitoring and deploying security patches and other critical updates as needed while developing and maintaining a backup strategy that stores DB backups and integrates retention, lifecycle policies, and secure access controls.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy, including recovery objectives, fail over procedures, testing plans, and ongoing support
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database monitoring strategy, including metrics, alerting, dashboards, and ongoing support
Provide support in United States (US) for databases subject to International Traffic Arms and Regulations (ITAR) compliance, with strict access controls and audit trails
Diagnose and resolve database performance issues during both pre-release tests and post-release operations, including root-cause analysis and performance tuning
Interact and communicate with project leadership and users to ensure adherence to application security best practices
Monitor incoming requests and provide appropriate support, identify improvement opportunities and assist with their implementation efforts
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher
3+ years of experience within information technology
Experience with SQL and Oracle database maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience within information technology
Experience with strong communication skills
