Director of Catering
to lead the launch and growth of a newly established catering division. This is a rare opportunity to
build a department from the ground up —developing strategy, structure, and standards for a property poised to redefine modern luxury in the Houston market. The ideal candidate will bring a
proven background in catering sales, event design, and team leadership , along with the vision and drive to shape a department that reflects both creativity and operational excellence. Overview
This position offers a chance to be the founding leader of a new luxury hotel’s catering division, shaping its identity, building its clientele, and delivering best-in-class experiences. Responsibilities
Lead the
creation and launch of the hotel’s catering department , establishing processes, goals, and service standards from inception. Drive
sales and revenue growth
through proactive prospecting, client relationship management, and community engagement. Oversee all aspects of
event planning, detailing, and execution , ensuring a seamless experience aligned with the hotel’s elevated brand standards. Partner with the culinary, operations, and sales teams to deliver
innovative, on-brand events
that balance profitability with memorable guest experiences. Develop
strategic partnerships
with corporate, social, and wedding clients to position the property as a top destination for luxury events in Houston. Manage forecasting, budgeting, and reporting while maintaining financial accountability and maximizing departmental performance. Recruit, mentor, and inspire a growing catering team as the department expands. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in
catering sales or event management
within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment. Strong track record of building or scaling successful catering or events operations. Deep knowledge of Houston’s event, social, and corporate markets. Proven ability to balance
creative vision with business discipline . Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Passion for hospitality, design, and delivering experiences that exceed expectations. Salary and Benefits
