Overview

Accounts Receivable Representative – CBO Credits and Refunds – Day Shift (Hybrid) is a critical role at NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital’s Central Billing Office. As a core member of the revenue cycle team, you will collaborate with billing supervisors, practice managers, and other specialists to ensure efficient financial operations and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Process and review accounts receivable transactions to maintain accurate records. Utilize CMS and payer guidelines to correct claims, handle appeals, and apply appropriate coding (CPT, ICD‑10, modifiers). Assist patients and providers in billing inquiries, ensuring timely resolution. Support revenue cycle goals by tracking denials, performing follow‑ups, and maintaining effective communication with insurance carriers.

Preferred Criteria

Working knowledge of EPIC. Three (3)+ years of experience in revenue cycle operations. Three (3)+ years of PB experience.

Required Criteria

High School Diploma or GED. Working knowledge of CMS 1500 forms. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Experience with insurance websites for eligibility, benefits, claim status, and online appeals. Familiarity with the revenue cycle process, including patient registration, billing, denial tracking, and payer contracts. Proficiency in health systems, interfaces, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and electronic health records.
