Project location: Denver, CO 80204 USA. The senior project engineer will be hired out of our Denver, CO office. Applicants can be local to Utah or a travel package is available if applicant is willing to travel to this location.

Position Summary Manage and supervise engineering and administrative policies, procedures and functions for a large and complex project. Coordinate with project field operations to ensure transfer of information is delivered, understood and implemented.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
Serve as leader for project engineering of a large and complex construction project with extensive and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project contract documents, including plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
Maintain strict adherence to safety, ethics and compliance requirements, and Turner policies.
Lead, supervise, and develop project Engineering employees and participate in hiring process, onboard and deliver timely performance feedback for direct reports, execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilize talent management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs.
Participate in project start-up to establish and implement project engineering procedures.
Manage expectations and establish, communicate, and maintain procedures with design professionals, consultants, owner and trade partners for information flow, approvals, meetings, reporting, and applications for payment.
Work with Preconstruction and Purchasing in development of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) or initial project budget and consult on project engineering specific project needs.
Manage and conduct thorough construction document reviews and examine documents for constructability and Quality Control (QC), raise concerns to attention of appropriate design professional and see through to resolution.
Understand and communicate national and local building codes and requirements.
Participate in preparation of various project studies, provide recommendations for materials and methods, and cost estimates.
Develop and review trade partner Scope of Work (SOW) documents for bid packages, major material and equipment purchases and include in detailed contract items list.
Prepare procurement schedule for trade partners and major material and equipment purchases to ensure timely buyouts and overall compliance with construction schedule.
Prepare and manage project status and collaborate with project resources to develop financial reports.
Schedule, conduct, and document job meetings, owner-architect, and coordination meetings.
Conduct project site visits, attend job meetings and pre-installation meetings to assist with risk management and to collect best practices for various procedures and methods, including scheduling, budgeting, and QC to share with other projects and BUs.
Engage regularly with BUs to discuss current engineering challenges, relevant issues, lessons learned, and exchange information.
Manage trade partner change order process including review of estimates, negotiation of change orders, and obtain required owner approvals.
Manage project close‑out, including securing warranties, guarantees, acceptance of work, trade partner and vendor close, final payment, and records retention.
Adopt and implement new engineering procedures manuals and checklists with emphasis on risk management.
Stay up to date on new technologies with potential impact to engineering operations and projects. Manage rollout of new technologies onto Turner jobsites.
Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or similar, and minimum of 12 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Extensive experience in construction engineering principles and techniques.
Comprehensive knowledge of building construction materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices.
Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
Proficient knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, various building systems, codes, and requirements.
Project management of competing demands and adherence to established deadlines.
Executive presentation delivery with professional verbal and written communication skills.
Experience managing staff, able to provide direction, delegation, and performance feedback.
Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
Limited travel.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. The below salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
