The Sr Director – Tech@Lilly (IT) Procurement leads a team of sourcing associates to optimize IT spending of over $1 B annually for services, software and hardware. Key categories include application development and maintenance, systems integration, telecommunications, and information security. Software spend covers SaaS, on‑premise and desktop/laptop software. Hardware purchases focus on data center hardware, desktops/laptops and printers. Essential Duties
Lead and develop a team of ~8 sourcing professionals, driving strategy, coaching, training and new responsibilities. Achieve team performance targets for savings, diverse supplier spend, inflation management, guided buying, supplier rationalization and risk management. Implement process efficiencies and automation (including agentic AI) to enhance productivity and simplify buying for business partners. Engage in internal and external governance activities to exert procurement influence, ensuring collaboration across functions and demonstrating problem solving. Provide procurement expertise (strategy, sourcing, negotiation, contracting, relationship management, risk management, etc.) and project prioritization to enable efficient completion of team activities. Perform effective internal account management with the IDS Lead Team and their members, learning about their business areas, strategies and long‑term needs. Coordinate and maintain supplier relationship management activities for key IDS suppliers to enable deeper strategic relationships. Create and execute strategies to meet or exceed supplier development goals. Ensure all transactions are FRAP compliant and contract proposals are appropriately networked with functional leadership, finance and procurement leadership. Required Education, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree 5+ years of experience in sourcing or a related role. 3+ years of experience managing or leading teams. Proven experience in IT procurement, ideally with leadership responsibility over an IT sourcing organization. Prior sourcing or related experience in managing IT related spend categories. Prior leadership/supervision experience. Proven track record of leading large sourcing projects. Experience managing 3rd‑party relationships including selection, contracting, governance and issue resolution. Excellent verbal and written communication. Experience building relationships, influencing and working effectively without formal reporting relationships. Demonstrated ability to mentor or coach others. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. MBA (preferred). Location

Travel is required for this role. Compensation
Salary range: $154,500 – $226,600 per year.
