Position: Senior Graphic Designer
Senior Graphic Designer: designing and producing high-quality print and digital marketing materials, corporate publications, advertising, and campaign assets. Serve as a senior-level resource within the Marketing & Communications team, providing creative leadership, strategic guidance, and mentorship to other designers and freelancers. Responsibilities
Serve as the lead graphic designer, establishing visual style, guiding design standards, and sharing advanced-level expertise with team members and freelancers. Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications (M&C) team to develop compelling, targeted campaigns across print, digital, social media, and corporate channels. Ensure brand consistency by maintaining adherence to brand guidelines across all materials and communications. Design promotional and marketing assets for all UWM departments, including print collateral, digital campaigns, presentations, social graphics, and infographics. Utilize professional design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and other emerging tools, with expertise in pre-press and production processes. Integrate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine designs, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives, tone, and accessibility standards. Collaborate regularly with M&C team leads to discuss creative briefs, concepts, and design strategies. Manage multiple projects simultaneously using project management tools (e.g., Asana), ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality. Stay current with trends in digital marketing, web design, and visual storytelling to continually enhance creative output and professional skills. Oversee organization, storage, and version control of all creative assets and files. Coordinate with external vendors as needed for production specifications, quotes, and deliverables. Support organizational initiatives, including occasional after-hours or weekend activities, to promote United Way and community engagement. Participate in United Way’s crisis response plan as needed, reflecting the organization’s leadership role in the community during emergencies. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar or equivalent experience. 3+ years’ experience in the Graphic Design field. Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and related design tools. Microsoft Office in particular, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and Asana. Proven comfort level with learning new software applications as necessary. Strong art & design skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; accuracy, attention to detail, knowledgeable in desktop publishing, initiative, attention to deadlines, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
