Position Purpose Provides leadership in the creation and management of a coordinated, strategic fund development program to establish long‑term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate sector and charitable foundations that will result in the cultivation and solicitation of philanthropic support to advance the University’s programs and priorities. Manage a portfolio of 40–50 corporate and foundation partnerships. Work across division lines to build a strong culture of philanthropy. Reports to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations with a dotted line to the Dean of Engineering and Computer Science.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive corporate and foundation fundraising strategy.

Build and maintain long‑term relationships with corporate partners and foundations.

Identify and cultivate opportunities for significant philanthropic gifts.

Collaborate with university leaders, faculty, and staff to align fundraising priorities with institutional goals.

Manage a portfolio of 40–50 corporate and foundation partnerships.

Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, written materials, and presentations to prospective corporate and foundation partners.

Track and report on fundraising progress and outcomes.

Work across division lines to build a strong culture of philanthropy.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Minimum of four (4) years of progressive successful fundraising experience in corporate and foundation fundraising strategies or related experience managing business relationships.

Strong relationship‑building, organizational, management, and analytical skills.

Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Excellent writing skills including letters of intent, grant proposals, and other correspondence.

Excellent interpersonal, presentation, persuasion, and negotiating skills.

Ability to interact effectively with university leaders and corporate & foundation executives.

Energetic, goal‑oriented, hands‑on, creative, attentive to detail, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Incumbent willing to work extended hours as needed.

Requirements may include evening meetings, special event attendance and/or travel.

Demonstrated success in soliciting gifts from corporations and/or foundations.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Experience in higher education fundraising environment.

Familiarity with Banner database and/or fundraising and development software.
