Overview
CAES is seeking an RF Engineering Manager to work on challenging programs in support of advanced electronic sub-systems and components for Radar, Electronic Warfare and Missile applications ranging from MHz to 40GHz. This role requires strong RF technical knowledge coupled with personnel management skills to manage a small engineering staff of 5 to 10 engineers. Travel requirements are minimal.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and manage a technical staff.
Lead RF hardware design, requirements compliance analysis, RF simulations (Microwave Office, HFSS), design validation, product integration oversight, and transition to production support.
Set direction and drive a team of highly skilled engineers with diverse RF, analog and testing experience.
Provide RF engineering expertise and support to operations and other functions to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue, profitability, and continuous improvement objectives.
Manage cross‑functional engineering activities as lead engineering manager for assigned programs, proposals, and IR&D activities.
Collaborate with other IES engineering managers to enable cross‑functional and cross‑site teams, coordinate resource assignments, tool selection, and procedure development.
Perform talent management activities including recruitment, mentoring, training, performance management, and succession planning.
Manage RF engineering department expenses and budget compliance.
Ensure engineering activities comply with ISO QMS guidelines and continuous improvement methods.
Manage engineering KPIs and drive improvements in engineering performance metrics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
3 years of experience in people management.
10 years of experience in Engineering field.
5 years of experience in RF/Microwave Engineering.
Access to technology, materials, software or hardware controlled by US export law.
Eligibility for a US Person under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE+) or related technical field.
Active security clearance.
Experience with Enterprise‑wide information systems such as SAP.
Experience with drawing‑viewing programs such as CAD or CAE.
Experience designing, testing and troubleshooting RF/Microwave sub‑systems including circuit analysis tools such as MWO or ADS, HFSS, Ansoft Designer, and/or Sonnet.
Experience generating proposals.
Salary Range Manager Radio Frequency Engineer:
$157,388.19 – $243,600.83 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
