We are looking for a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving payments businesses. This attorney will be responsible for counseling the Amazon Payments business teams on product and service launches, negotiating complex transactions with financial service partners, and advising on commercial, regulatory, and compliance related initiatives in the payments and financial services space.
Key job responsibilities
Advise the business on regulatory and compliance matters
Provide product development advice
Structure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements related to domestic and international payment and credit/lending products
Provide ongoing legal counseling on a wide range of matters.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with financial services, payments or e-commerce
Experience in transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent
Experience in Payments Law
Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies
Experience working cross functionally across several teams
Experience partnering with business leaders in highly complex and dynamic business settings

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
