Audit Manager – Government Sector
Nationally recognized professional services firm is seeking an experienced
Audit Manager
to lead engagements within the government sector, including audits of state and local entities. This role is based in
Miami
and requires three days per week in‑office. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in governmental accounting standards and a strong track record of managing complex audit engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead audits of governmental entities including financial statement audits, single audits, and compliance audits
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating knowledge of GASB, GAAP, GAAS, Government Auditing Standards, and Uniform Guidance
Oversee engagement deliverables and ensure quality control standards are met
Supervise, train, and mentor staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development
Manage multiple client relationships and special projects
Develop and monitor engagement budgets, billing, and realization
Support practice development and cross‑service opportunities
Consistently meet charge hour goals and contribute to firm growth
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred)
CPA certification required
Minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
At least 3 years of supervisory experience
Strong technical proficiency and ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
Proficiency with relevant audit software and technology platforms
Willingness to travel based on client and business needs
Base Pay Range $140,000.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr
