Job Highlights
Manage and grow sales at customers for LANXESS LAB with account and budget responsibility, developing and maintaining key account plans and maintaining sales excellence with CRM, Forecasting, etc.
Identify customer & product combination, niche value propositions in, but not exclusively, to the Metalworking Fluids/Lubricants Additive market with focus on Additin products.
Develops relationships with the technical side of the customer for a deep understanding of their customers, markets, products and need for LANXESS produced materials vs. competitive products to understand our niche.
Sells value vs. competitive offers to gain customer commitments.
Assist in developing product/service improvements for new market opportunities by remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competitors and customer offerings including cross regional initiatives with key accounts and other LANXESS colleagues to understand how LANXESS value propositions fit into different markets.
Trade show participation-AFPM, ILMA, STLE and NLGI as assigned by management.
Experience And Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, Engineering or a related field or comparable experience.
MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
3 - 5 years of relevant experience in the lubricants and/or metalworking fluids market.
Must have knowledge of lubricants, raw materials (base oils, additives, finished products), markets and competitors.
Successful track record of qualifying prospects, selling value and closing targets preferably in the chemical industry.
Demonstrated key account management skills with excellent communication skills for local team collaboration.
Ability to think strategically and anticipate individuals’ motivations and reactions.
Ability to manage complexity to favorable outcomes.
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
Ideally candidates should reside in the Northeast area (preferably Cleveland, Ohio) or Midwest area (preferably Detroit, Michigan).
