Select role developing mechanical design for rugged electronic systems at our
Ashburn, VA
location.
Responsibilities
Modify and redesign existing baseline products to meet specific requirements.
Create new designs for additional parts; update and generate all mechanical drawings and analysis.
Support customer meetings as required, including generation of presentation materials.
Support systems engineering in creation of environmental testing plans and procedures.
Supervise environmental testing and provide subject matter expertise for environmental testing as appropriate.
Coordinate with systems engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing team, quality, and program management to ensure orderly transition of system from prototype to pre-production to production state.
Support generation of quality and production documentation.
Hands‑on build of prototype systems as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience with SolidWorks.
Experience in modification to existing designs, light industrial design, and cable drawings.
Ability to create designs for plastics and metal die castings.
Ability to design for manufacturing and design for assembly experience.
US citizen required; secret security clearance is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$83,800.00 – $115,000.00 per year plus bonus.
