Job Description
Provide strategic legal counsel on employment law matters, including compliance, policies, and procedures.
Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and documentation.
Provide legal guidance on sensitive employee relations issues and internal investigations, partnering closely with HR and business leaders.
Assist with employment-related filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Drive proactive legal strategies in the employment space and collaborate on global employment initiatives and alignment.
Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret a wide variety of commercial agreements including SaaS agreements, NDAs, vendor contracts, data processing addendums, business associate addendums, platform integration, and partnership agreements, and ensure that all commercial agreements adequately protect the company's interests, improve processes, and increase scalability, partnering with various departments.
Manage agreements and business activities to comply with company policies and risk tolerance.
Provide general legal support to our global business as needed, including corporate legal matters such as lease agreements.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure company compliance.
Deliver training sessions on legal compliance and best practices to internal teams.
Assist in developing strategies to mitigate legal risks related to employment practices.

The Successful Applicant
JD from US law school
3+ years of relevant legal experience as a practicing attorny, in a law firm or in-house, ideally with a focus on U.S. employment law and other corporate legal matters
Understanding of employment frameworks and regulations, including work authorizations, leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA, ADA)
Experience working closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, and cross-functional teams
Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion, sound judgment, and practical risk-balancing
Strong experience in drafting, negotiating and managing professional services agreements, software as a service agreements, business agreements, intellectual property agreements and lease agreements
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
Team player with exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent negotiating skills, keen analytical abilities, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, as well as a track record of success in handling complex business and legal issues in a fast-paced, agile and evolving technology-driven business environment
Based in NYC and able to work in-office 3 days per week
